I suppose the thing worse in an issue

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 6:46 pm

The rest of the afternoon walking was as full as the morning. The white swan pub looked promising enough as we approached but looks a bit rundown inside. On to lovesome hill farm where we planned to camp for the night. Our arrival was met with cups of tea and biscuits before john, who runs the place, turned up and offered us the barn to stay in overnight. After a brief conflab with jordan we decided to take the barn to save us putting the tent up tonight. A new experience for both of us.

“There’s very few spaces where you see such amazing, ground-breaking, do-it-yourself activists coming together with all these young people from all these communities where they’ve traditionally been told not to do try to do it themselves or that they can’t do it for themselves. You get to see the best of both communities coming together in this space.”

So, I suppose the thing worse in an issue of Lois Lane than Superman being mean to Lois is Lois being mean to a baby. I mean, I suppose she knows the kid’s indestructible, but come on. The silliest part of the story is she never considers why Superman would have traveled into the past after Clark sees his records about to be examined.

The night was not enough

May I remember my bro Dave who had an abrupt death just after having had a drink and was on his way home driving…he just stopped to vomit and collapsed…and he was gone…he had a natural death according to the autopsy….

It’s actually the same thing that the Bible says – love thy neighbor. If you love your neighbor, you want to make him feel special and important.

When you learn to make your clients’ needs the priority in your business, then and then can you truly say that you have had a successful business in your hands.

The night was not enough. Too many bloggers to say hi to. And my knees were aching from standing. Sorry for not being there with you all the time. Annmanila and I had to rest our feeble bones. Looking the pics, you seemed to have a blast naman. Next time, let’s have our own mommy events.

the ability to make a heat map

Demonstrating my firm grasp of the obvious, I agreed with her and lamented that “that’s life in a city on the edge of the map.” Demonstrating my virtual multiculturality, I suggested that its really not that different from Thorin’s Halls in LotRO or Ak’Anon back in Everquest. Edge cities. Off the beaten path.

The week-long strike of the Auto Drivers in Hyderabad was finally called off yesterday. They had been protesting for the past few days against the government’s action plans of installing digital meters on all the autos plying in the twin cities. Even though it was a well-thought decision, the strictness of it made the Auto unions go into a tizzy! There were reports about how the meters would cost the autowallahs dearly and how they couldn’t afford it but I’m guessing they just don’t want to change to digitised meters. (psst…they would be difficult to tamper) The strike caused much hardship to public and coupled with the paucity of adequate transport services from the RTC, it was one hell of a commute everyday for most people….yours truly included! The strike was called off after the Govt. decided to defer the imposition of the meters by 90 days. Wonder if that is the best solution. There are equal chances of the stand-off arising again on the 91st day. I guess this was a stop-gap kinda solution for the problem, with bothe the parties clearly not working towards an amicable settlement. As of now, the autos have returned to the roads and with it the chaos and traffic jams as well! Sigh…win some…lose some!

Geocommons gives anyone the ability to make a heat map with very little specialized training. You may say that is a bad thing, but I say it is interesting. There is less and less need to purchase and learn complicated desktop tools to do some simple analysis.

I am not even going to tell you how long I agonized over the perfect photo with which to mark World Water Day. Water is one of the things that defines Michigan above all others. Industries may come and go, but (assuming we can take care of it) Michigan’s water is forever.
