Not the clothes tumbling in the stacked dryer

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 6:42 pm

On a Tuesday night most of the gay venues in Bristol are closed, so the place was rammed with the staff and regulars thereof, not to mention the most ostentatious drag-queens I have ever seen: the atmosphere was electric before the curtain even went up. When it did, the crowd went wild. The show itself was nothing like we had imagined: it was just amazing. No crass, cheap, penis gags. No nudity at all (though some extremely skimpy costumes that boggled the mind with their gravity-defying engineering). Considering they’re telling the same joke over and over again (men dressed as women, ha ha ha) it was fantastic fun and never got boring. Artist after artist rolled up, looking amazing, to lip-sync to classic and contemporary numbers, each deserving and receiving more applause than the last. My favourites were the Pussy-cat Dolls (amazingly less trashy than the real things, given the circumstances), the Can-Can, Tina Turner, and an exceptional impersonation of Shirley Bassey singing “This Is My Life”. The standing ovation at the end was well-deserved.

Something concrete. Mom doesn’t care any longer what people think of her. She’s not at the end of the journey. I imagine she cares plenty, yet her plenty is a thimbleful compared to another person’s. And you know, I don’t even want to write about this. Not the hum of the loud refrigerator or the sound of water moving from the water heater in the entryway closet to the far bathroom. Not the clothes tumbling in the stacked dryer, not the tile under my left foot too hot. Not my gratefulness for socks to keep my skin from burning. Not my chagrin for having worn the same pair four days out of four days this week. I’m sock poor, wine glass poor, coffee mug poor, house poor.

here’s a guy in nashville named the mick
who’s head is as thick as a brick
pure charm is his claim
in the romantical game
but he’s afraid to talk to the chicks

This year

In comradeship there are no demands on the self. This is part of its appeal and one of the reasons we miss it and seek to recreate it. Comradeship allows us to escape the demands on the self that is part of friendship. In wartime when we feel threatened, we no longer face death alone but as a group, and this makes death easier to bear. We ennoble self-sacrifice for the other, for the comrade; in short we begin to worship death. And this is what the god of war demands of us.

Obviously I can’t talk about BlogFriends - the purpose of this post is to check out whether or not the filtering algorithm is exactly how we’d like it. This is why this post randomly contains the words “startups”, “VC”, “venture capital”, “tech”, “Web2.0″, “investment”, “entrepreneur”, “iPhone”, “insider”, “Luke Razzell”, “identity” and other things I’ll add later.

Initially people found out about Friends Reunited through word of
mouth. But, as the site is a bit older now, we have to advertise to
reach the harder to get people who have yet to join. We see this as
money well spent, because it has a direct benefit on how enjoyable the
site is for you.  This year we’ll be advertising on the TV and on the
internet and spending about 10 times what we did last year.

I am working

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 4:35 pm

Hello and welcome to my blog. I will post every now and then some stuff which I think other multimedia developers could be interested in. My experiences with new technologies, some source code to make your developing process a bit easier.. you name it. What I like the most is working with the adobe cs3 set. Flash and Photoshop in particulary. Hope you might find some useful information here..

At the moment I am working in the European HQ of a large global enterprise. All around me there are people from all over the world. Let me list a few of the nations involved in this project: Australian, English, Indian, Pakistani, German, Spanish, Argentinian, French, Italian, Irish, South African, Malaysian. I am sure I have missed a few.

Note: Obviously, the Paul Watson featured in this article and the Paul Watson of Prison Planet are different people. In addition, Alex Jones of Prison Planet is not a Harvard professor, a New York Times writer or a football player.

As of late, I have been experiencing wicked headaches (as in the worst I have ever had in my life and much more frequently), which I believe have been in association to periods — but more headaches in between as well. And bumps on my temples — plus my eyes have been doing weird things. SO, me being all logical, think that perhaps these three things are linked. And, perhaps they might also all be linked to taking the birth control pill. And so, as any logical (and not crazy person) might do, I look at that pamphlet that comes with pills — the one that you read once when you first start taking them and then never look at again.

Here’s a story about a crow who adopts a stray kitten. I like this story. It makes me happy. I hope we can all take a cue about how to treat people and other creatures from this clip. Thanks George…

dinno u liked Kawan Pemancing Ikan. Guess if whenever there’s a gathering, i know who to look for for a breath mint/throat reliever. :p

possible relinquishment

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 4:30 pm

This would be a good link for individual study at home on the internet. A great lecture could be built around it, if one has internet access live in the classroom and a way to project it.

A method and system provides transactions and arrangements in virtual world environments. A user can participate in transactions to acquire virtual property and related virtual rights. In some implementations, real-world and virtual parties can be involved in virtual collateral transactions as well as conditional transfers and/or revocations involving various types of virtual objects and virtual rights. A possible relinquishment of designated aspects of the virtual collateral may result from unsatisfactory compliance with a real-world obligation or virtual world obligation that is secured by the virtual collateral.

To this day I can still remember

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 6:48 pm

I noticed that some of my clients weren’t clear on everything that I could do, so I then also created what amounted to static web pages, still using WordPress, to help give overviews in a non-blog-centric way. Hey, if you’re using a great platform, use it to the max!

Tunnels - I didn’t know anything of this book. It wasn’t on my list. Santa decided to shake things up a bit after a little recommending by my friends over at The Flying Dragon. I’m reading it now… the scoop will follow soon

One of the worst parts about losing a parent is trying to handle your friends. To this day I can still remember the helpless looks on the faces of the people I knew when I told them my mother was dead. Surely the matter of fact way I said it didn’t help, but I was in shock. They looked at each other, then back at me. “You’re kidding” they said.

Flying somewhat heretical

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:55 pm

Given how few buildings architects actually design in this country compared with the EU for example, I’m not sure how relevant the profession is to the topic of sustainability.  However, I was curious enough to see what might be the official AIA word on the subject.  I found this posting on the internet from the AIA Committee on the Environment.

A catalogue for reviewing and purchasing these limited edition rayguns called “Doctor Grordbort’s Contrapulatronic Dingus Directory” can be purchased in January 2008 for under $20. Items such as getting ammunition for your Manmelter which takes Phlogiston and Compressed Aether phials can be ordered through the Doctor’s the upcoming Contrapulatronic Dingus Directory.

Sally wanted to be meaningful, and powerful from the first word, Oh, she did the “Thank you so much!” but then when she forgot her prepared speech, cuz it looks better if you aren’t working off of notes, and the class act that is a complete idiot in the shape of a woman who gained fame as a surfer girl, a flying somewhat heretical nun, a trashy broad who fled her wedding to hang out with bootleggers and an outright friggen lunatic, decided it was important to state that if women who are mothers (cuz she PLAYS a mother on tv) we need to do away with war by having mothers run the world.

Prior to the victory at Vimy Ridge

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 7:00 pm

The battle marked the first major victory for the Allied nations facing the German and Central Forces. Prior to the victory at Vimy Ridge, those same Allied forces had been met with one staggering defeat after another. The First World War was the first post Napoleonic-era war and Europe and the rest of the world would never be same. In the end, the war was to cause the disintegration of four empires that had changed the world. The Austro-Hungarian, German, Russian and Ottoman Empires were lost. Half a dozen new states were created in Europe, and Poland and Lithuania were recreated. Most importantly, the First World War was a transitional war. Whereas wars were once fought exclusively for territory and resources, the First World War was fought about ideas and the imposition of those ideas, some of which were less than savory, to be sure.

After an enormous lunch (Blue Moon burger with sweet potato fries), self declared to cousin that she would skip dinner. But cousin pooh-poohed that notion, and at 7 PM self and cousin and Enrique and a friend were at the Reston Mall, walking around and looking for a restaurant, and the one they found happened to have, like, the longest wine list self had ever seen and cousin had a glass of BV cabernet sauvignon with a meal of linguini with italian sausage, and self had a glass of Penfold Australian shiraz which was very very good. And now self’s stomach is full to bursting. And she’d better lose this weight pronto before she gets back to VCCA, for it’s her turn to “present” on Tuesday, and it would not help self’s nerves at all to know that her tummy rolls were visible.

There’s also an invasive version, which is still in the experimental stages. This uses electrocorticography instead - electrical activity from the premotor and motor cortices is recorded by a microelectrode array implanted into the surface of the brain.

Tennessee in the Guinness Book

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 6:01 pm

The 100-point, five year sustainable development program, covers all aspects of Marks & Spencer’s business. Through it, the UK retailer aims to become carbon neutral and send no waste to landfill from its own operations; extend sustainable sourcing; set new standards in ethical trading and help its customers and employees live a healthier lifestyle. Metaplace promises to create legions of new online games. But what it’s really churning out are worlds. Small worlds, big worlds, virtual reality worlds, worlds you only see through your cell phone, text worlds, 3-D worlds, worlds for a handful of people, and worlds for - what’s the last count for Warcraft? - 9 million+ subscribers. And while each Metaplace experience is supposed to combine people + games, what you get at the end of that really is a world.

Tina, from Niota, Tennessee is now in the Guinness Book of World Records for 2008 as the Tallest Horse in the World.

Tina’s owners Jim and Marge Williams received the good news Thursday morning, October 25.

I suppose the thing worse in an issue

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 6:46 pm

The rest of the afternoon walking was as full as the morning. The white swan pub looked promising enough as we approached but looks a bit rundown inside. On to lovesome hill farm where we planned to camp for the night. Our arrival was met with cups of tea and biscuits before john, who runs the place, turned up and offered us the barn to stay in overnight. After a brief conflab with jordan we decided to take the barn to save us putting the tent up tonight. A new experience for both of us.

“There’s very few spaces where you see such amazing, ground-breaking, do-it-yourself activists coming together with all these young people from all these communities where they’ve traditionally been told not to do try to do it themselves or that they can’t do it for themselves. You get to see the best of both communities coming together in this space.”

So, I suppose the thing worse in an issue of Lois Lane than Superman being mean to Lois is Lois being mean to a baby. I mean, I suppose she knows the kid’s indestructible, but come on. The silliest part of the story is she never considers why Superman would have traveled into the past after Clark sees his records about to be examined.
